Tree felling is the process of cutting the tree near the base to fell it in one complete piece.

Felling can be individual trees or forestry felling which includes coppicing and clear fell projects for timber harvesting.

For trees in confined spaces, sectional dismantling, sometimes lowering the sections, is more appropriate than felling a tree in one piece.
